| Dear all DRH members and DRH subscribers: On 30 March 2009, the DRH website ( http://drh.edm.bosai.go.jp/ ) was upgraded to Ver.3 as you see it herein. In the new version, extensive enhancements were realized both in web dsign and its functions to make it user friendly. The improvements were made possible on the basis of experiences of the previous version (Ver.2) and opinions from many DRH Members. The DRH activities have persued both conceptual developments and their substantiation as a useful knowledge base for DRR throughout the DRH Project period (April 2005 - March 2009). On this basis, the DRH website has taken its shape. There were tremendous contributions from international discussions by many DRH members. I am convinced that this accomplishmet is a significant step of implementation of Hyogo Frame for Action 2005-2015 adopted at the UN World Conference on Disaster Reduction (WCDR) and "Portofolio for Disaster Reduction" proposed by the Japanese government at the WCDR. The DRH has now taken its definite shape. It currently accoodates 20 DRH Contents. Other 26 proposals are being discussed toward registration in the DRH Database. I hope that you will keep your interest in the DRH activities and contribute to its enrichment through new contributions to DRH Contents as well as their application to practical DRR purposes.
