Title: Pilot Project (“Disaster Reduction Technology List on Implementation Strategies”, January 2005) posted in the DRH Project (Phase-I) page

The entire volume of “Disaster Reduction Technology List on Implementation Strategies” was posted in the DRH Project page (Phase I section) at ( http://drh.edm.bosai.go.jp/Project/Phase1/Japan_List/Contents.htm ). The book was published as a contribution from Japan to the United Nations World Conference on Disaster Reduction (WCDR), Hyogo-Kobe, January 2005. The volume played a role of a “Pilot Project” that lead to the DRH Project.

The Pilot Project book contains 42 disaster reduction technologies that were developed under the leadership of Japanese institutions. Some of them were re-organized as DRH Contents. They are significant as a prototype of the DRH.

You are encouraged to access the contents of the Pilot Project through this web page as important supplementary information to the DRH contents.

IHP-DRH Workshop uploaded

Dear DRH members and visitors,

The records of the IHP Flood Project - DRH Implementation Workshop (IHP-DRH Workshop), Wuhan, China, 3 November 2009 has been posted on the DRH Project page of the DRH web site.

The Workshop was to promote DRH involvement in the UNESCO's IHP (International Hydrology Program) Flood Project, in which the mission of DRH is to take a role of information dissemination of outputs from the IHP Flood Project for implementation in practice for disaster risk reduction.

The objectives of the Workshop were 1) mutual understanding between IHP and DRH members, 2) establishing a consensus on the significance of IHP and DRH incorporation, 3) clarifying R&D status, and 4) developing action plans towards the DRH Contents compilation from the IHP Flood Project.

All presentations and outcomes from the Workshop are downloadable in pdf files.

DRH Consortium WS and ASEAN-DRH Session, Kyoto, Oct. 2009 posted

The ASEAN-DRH Session held as IDRiM09 Forum Special Session 6, Kyoto, 13 October 2009, has also been posted on the same page.

DRH Session at 14WCEE uploaded on DRH Project page

The DRH based session at the 14th World Conference on Earthquake Engineering (14WCEE), Beijing, 12-17 October 2008, is uploaded on the DRH Project page.

The session is Special Session S22 entitled:
"Information Networking on Implementation Technology for Earthquake Disaster Reduction - with a framework from the Disaster Reduction Hyperbase (DRH) Initiative" (Oral Program on Oct.15 and Poster Program on Oct.14)

You can access all documents used in S22 (both oral and poster). You also see a photo album showing scenes of S22. They are all downloadable in pdf files.

At the DRH top page, enter "DRH Project", "DRH Phase II", "EVENTS", "2008FY", and "No.(18)". Then you get to all documents.

Call for DRH Conents proposals uploaded

Call for DRH Contents proposals (Ver.3-1) has been uploaded. The page is reachable either directly from the DRH top page or via DRH Project page.

As the DRH websystem is being enhanced, the Call document will be subject to version change in future.

Note, however, that the updated version of the DRH Template (ver.7.1) is to be used solidly after this.

DRH Project Page renewed

On 1 July 2008, the "DRH Project" pages were renewed. You can make access to all DRH activity records for each project phase. While the quality of information remains same as the former version, the new version has been designed in a more systematic and accountable manner.

Proposals for DRH Contents: Facilitation discussion began

To those who contributed proposals for DRH Contents:
DRH Facilitator's group began facilitation discussion on about forty DRH Contents proposals sent so far to the DRH Project secretariat. In order to make your DRH Contents conform with the DRH contest, it is likely that you receive requests from the DRH Facilitators for improvement of your manuscript. Please log-in in the DRH website, and enter DRH Forum. You can see your proposal posted. In case you have Facilitators' requests, you find it in "Facilitators' Comments" in the discussion screen. Please respond to it using comment boxes. In order to assist you, we will send you an e-mail from the DRH Project PI describing the details of the procedure.

DRH 3rd Facilitator Meeting (FM3) ended

5/29-30 (FM3 Day 1 and Day 2): Overview, Sichan Earthquake briefing, Group A (DRH Contents facilitation), Group B (Website enhance discussion, Group C (Contents development in Islamic context)
5/31 (FM3 Day 3): Technical tour on TIK

The outcome of FM3 will be posted on DRH Project site shortly.
